Low Value Impedance Measurement

The impedance values of current sensing resistors are generally in the range of several milliohms. Measuring the high frequency characteristics of such a device can be a challenging task.

In this application note we show how the Bode 100 is used to measure the impedance of a 20 mΩ SMD resistor from 10 Hz to 10 MHz. The measurement indicates a self inductance of less than 3 nH.

Furthermore we measure the inner impedance of a 4-wire shunt resisitor.
