Measurement of a printed circuit coil

This example shows how the Bode 100 is used for the determination of equivalent circuit parameters and how the Smith chart functionality is used to design a matching network.

The application example shows how the equivalent circuit parameters of a coil created on a printed circuit board are measured using the Bode 100. The coil is designed for use as a
13.56 MHz RFID reader antenna. To connect the antenna to the RFID system the antenna impedance is matched to 50 Ω. The design of the matching network is done by using a Smith chart.

The measurements were done at the Linz Center of Mechatronics (LCM) The LCM is a leading research institute in the field of Mechatronics.
