RFID Resonance Frequency Measurement

TBA

It can be very important to measure the resonance frequency of a RFID tag without contacting the tag. This Application note shows how this measurement can be performed using the Bode 100

RFID Resonance Frequency and Quality Factor Measurement

This application note shows how the resonance frequency and the quality factor of an RFID tag can be measured using the Bode 100.

Radio Frequency IDentification is a widely used method for wireless identification and communication. RFID systems working at low frequencies use inductive coupling and resonance principles for their operation. To ensure proper function of the system, it is important that the resonance frequency of the system is known exactly. Also the quality factor of an RFID transponder is crucial for optimizing the communication performance.

With the aid of inductive coupling, the resonance frequency and the quality factor of an RFID tag can be measured without physically contacting the transponder. This application note shows how these measurements can be performed using the Bode 100.
